Definition: Time taken to make a copy


It takes about 1 hour to make a copy of a new, healthy drive of 8GB. To copy a damaged disk takes much longer. Copying the data in a file context is also slower than making a plain image copy. During the process of analysis and recovery we may generate 3-5 copies of all data.

The average time it takes to repair a drive in the field. In the field, only major subassemblies are changed (the PCB, sealed housing, etc.), excluding component level repairs as these are not performed in the field.
